Oaklands Riding School and Livery Yard, established in 1971, has always been a family run business. With 50 quality riding school horses and friendly and experienced staff, who are always willing to help.
Private Lessons are designed around you. Whether you are starting from the beginning, want to improve on what you have already achieved, or just want to build your confidence. The centre has have a choice of 50 horses and several instructors to suit you. Group lessons offer you a chance to ride with like minded people of a similar sill level.
Enjoy a one or two hour ride around traditional Devonshire lanes and countryside, in a group where all abilities are catered from complete beginners to the more experienced rider looking for a challenging ride. Oaklands Riding school is affiliated to the Riding for the Disabled Association and have a team of horses trained for all aspects of disabled riding involving children and adults.
Pony Days, held on Fridays in school holiday, is a unique opportunity for children to experience owning a pony at the fraction of the price for parents!! Including grooming, tacking up, group riding lesson and stable management. Having fun and making new friends! Birthday parties at Oaklands Riding School are a fabulous change from the norm. One hour party on horseback. The party goers play games such as musical statues, musical chairs (buckets), ride and run and many more. All riders are lead by a trained helper. A minimum of 6 up to a maximum of 10 children. Afterwards enjoy a meal in the Stable Door Cafe.
As the largest affiliated Pony Club Centre in the South West with over 80 members, the centre holds two, 2 hour lessons each week. Each lesson is split into 2 parts, Riding and Stable Management, with children able to work towards achievement badges.
Oaklands Riding School’s facilities consist of a jumping paddock, flood lit sand school and indoor school.
