Whitegate Farm Riding School

Whitegate Farm Riding School is set amid moorland splendour on the Lancashire edge of Bronte Country and boasts magnificent views of the surrounding Pennine Hills with the old Lancashire Mill Towns of Bacup, Waterfoot and Stacksteads nestling in the valleys below.

 

Whitegate is the only licensed riding school in the area, which means that all the horses and ponies are regularly inspected, and the instructors have qualified with the BHS (British Horse Society). The centre caters for any ability from the beginners first lesson to competition level including BHS and Pony Club Examinations. Lessons can take the form of Group sessions, Private and Semi-private sessions or country hacks. Courses cover Jumping, BHS & Pony Club examinations, and Stable Management. Whitegate Farm Riding School is also an official centre of the Pony Club of Great Britian.

 

Whitegate Farm has paddocks extending over 60 acres and stabling for up to 20 horses and ponies. The purpose built riding arena with floodlighting and is fully equipped with a large selection of Show Jumps and schooling facilities. Farm tracks, Ancient Highways and Bridle Paths lead from the farm to more than 50 miles of hacks and country rides over the moors, through towns and villages and along reclaimed railway cuttings.
