Cottage Farm Stables
Cottage Farm Stables in York is a fully licensed/insured and approved by the ABRS (Association of British Riding Schools). The centre was established by Kathy Maclean in 1976. Kathy has competed in British Eventing horse trials (BE) up to Advanced level and still regularly competes in Dressage, Show jumping and Eventing. As well as teaching clients on the riding school ponies and horses, Kathy welcomes people bringing their own horses. She enjoys encouraging riders to develop their own horse’s potential, in whatever discipline – both competition and non-competing combinations are equally welcome.
With a range of horse and ponies to choose from, to suit everyone’s needs. The centre has a spacious fibre and sand arena for all-weather riding. Lessons at the Cottage Farm Stables are varied from 1-3 day courses to really develop your confidence and abilities, to private and semi-private lessons. Classes are taught in a safe and fun environment.
If you are looking for holiday activities for your child? Enrol them on an ‘own a pony’ days during school holidays and half-terms. On these days the children are responsible for their ‘own’ pony and learn to care for it as well as riding twice.
