John Shaw Equestrian Riding School, founded by the International Show Jumper John Shaw, is a professional and well established riding school & livery business.The centre is located close to the M60 motorway and is easily accessible via public transport.
With over 30 well schooled horses & ponies, all of which are available for use in lessons. John Shaw Equestrian prides itself on providing classes for beginners through to advanced riders, based on your objectives with you and ensure you are placed in a class that enables you to achieve your goals. If you wish to learn to ride in a group lesson, your comfort with the group and your mount is paramount. Riders are matched to horses carefully and only ride with other riders of a very similar level.

John Shaw Equestrian Ltd is approved as a centre by the Association Of British Riding Schools. Not only does this mean you have the peace of mind that the horses, staff & yard meet the high standards of the ABRS, but that the centre can provide a syllabus of accredited training, which offers certificates, awards & qualifications. All tests are recognised nationally as a respected standard of equestrian achievement.
An all weather floodlit indoor arena with viewing and refreshments area, Jumping paddock & competition standard jumps as well as an outdoor school/ménage are just a few of the superb facilities available. Plus, with direct access to the Trans Pennine Trail, there are miles of fabulous off-road hacking on the door step.
